
Matcha Affogato

Matcha's high antioxidant levels can have so many positive effects to your health like: Stronger immunity system, glowing skin and many more. So I try to have a cup of matcha everyday, but sometimes I find matcha flavours rather basic. And drinking plain matcha with leafy notes can become a bit boring. Therefore, to keep my palate vibrant I come up with new recipes. And this week I came up with- Matcha Affogato.
Affogato is an Italian dessert, traditionally made using hot espresso, In my recipe I switched Coffee with Matcha, result was pretty great and worth a try!!
Ingredients:
1 tbsp Ceremonial Matcha.
½ cup lukewarm water (80°C).
1 scoop Vanilla Ice Cream.
Chocolate shavings.
Instructions:
Step 1: Steep Matcha!!
I steeped a cup of Cocoa Matcha from Tea trunk, I really like this flavour and it went well with the recipes. Tea trunk's Matchas are quite great and you can find different flavours like- mint and charcoal flavours as well. You can use any matcha of your choice. I whisked 1 tbsp of Matcha in 80°C water thoroughly. Whisking can take a while and is tiresome but the process is worth it for a nice cup of matcha.
Step 2: Ice Cream time!!

After all that whisking now your hands must be tired, so the next step is gonna be super easy, Fill your cup with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, you can have cheesecake instead of Icecream if you like. You can treat yourself with topping of chocolate shavings.
Step 3: Pour Hot matcha
Pour hot matcha over Icecream and Voila! Enjoy your time with this wonderful Italian dessert!!!
